Villa Bonnieux / Terms & conditions
Terms and conditions
About these terms
These terms apply to every stay at Villa Bonnieux booked directly with us. In these terms, “we” and “us” means the owners of Villa Bonnieux, and “you” means the lead guest who makes the booking.
Your booking is confirmed when we have received your deposit and sent you a written booking confirmation. By paying the deposit, you accept these terms on behalf of everyone in your party. If your booking confirmation says something different from these terms, the booking confirmation applies.
If you have any questions, email us at hello@villabonnieux.com before you book.
Booking and payment
A deposit of 25% of the rental price is due within 5 days of booking, and the remaining 75% is due 8 weeks before your arrival date.
| Payment | Amount | When |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit | 25% of the rental price | Within 5 days of booking |
| Balance | 75% of the rental price | 8 weeks before arrival |
| Security deposit | EUR 800 | With the balance |
Of the 25% deposit, 10% of the rental price is a non-refundable booking fee (see Cancellation below).
If you book less than 8 weeks before arrival, the full rental price and the security deposit are due within 5 days of booking. If a payment due within 5 days of booking is not received, we may release the dates to other guests.
We will send you a Revolut payment link for each payment. All payments are made in euros (EUR). Where your price is quoted in pounds sterling, you pay the euro equivalent at the Revolut exchange rate on the day you pay. There are no Revolut charges for paying by link.
If the balance is not received by its due date, we will remind you. If it is still unpaid 7 days after the reminder, we may cancel the booking, keep the 25% deposit and release the dates to other guests.
The rental price includes use of the villa, its gardens and pool, electricity, water, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels. Cleaning arrangements and any cleaning fee, and any extras, are set out in your booking confirmation.
Security deposit and damage
A refundable security deposit of EUR 800 is payable with your balance, unless your booking confirmation says no security deposit is required.
We will return the security deposit within 14 days of your departure. We may deduct the reasonable cost of repairing or replacing anything damaged or missing, or of extra cleaning beyond normal use. If we make a deduction, we will tell you what it is for and send you evidence, such as photos, quotes or receipts.
You are responsible for any damage caused by you or your party during your stay, whether or not a security deposit has been paid. If the cost is more than the security deposit, or no deposit was taken, you must pay us directly within 7 days of our request.
Please tell us straight away if anything is broken or damaged during your stay. Reporting it promptly helps us fix it quickly and will be taken into account.
Cancellation
Villa Bonnieux is a small, family-run home, and the summer weeks are booked many months in advance. A late cancellation, especially in peak season, usually leaves the dates empty, as it is too late for other guests to book them. Our cancellation terms are there to protect us from last-minute cancellations, particularly in peak season, while giving you back what we can.
If you cancel more than 8 weeks before arrival, we refund 15% of the rental price and keep 10% as a non-refundable booking fee. If you cancel 8 weeks or less before arrival, the full rental price is payable, but we will refund whatever we recover by re-letting your dates.
| When you cancel | What you get back |
|---|---|
| More than 8 weeks before arrival | 15% of the rental price is refunded; 10% is non-refundable |
| 8 weeks or less before arrival | The full rental price is payable, less any rent we recover by re-letting |
For example, on a rental price of EUR 10,000 you pay a deposit of EUR 2,500. If you cancel more than 8 weeks before arrival, we refund EUR 1,500 and keep EUR 1,000.
To cancel, email us at hello@villabonnieux.com. The cancellation takes effect on the day we receive your email. If we re-let all or part of your dates, we will refund the rent we receive for them, less any reasonable costs of re-letting. The security deposit is always refunded in full if you cancel.
We strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance with cancellation cover when you book.
If you want to change your dates, ask us. We will try to help, but we cannot guarantee that other dates are available.
If we have to cancel
If we have to cancel your booking for any reason, we will refund everything you have paid in full. If something outside our control makes the villa unusable, such as a fire, flood or serious damage, we will offer you other dates or a full refund. We are not responsible for other costs, such as flights or car hire, which is another reason to have travel insurance.
Arrival, departure and guests
Check-in is from 3pm on your arrival day and check-out is by 10am on your departure day, unless we agree other times in writing.
Only the guests named on your booking may stay at the villa. The number of guests must not be more than the maximum shown on your booking confirmation. Day visitors are welcome without prior agreement, but they may not stay overnight, and you are responsible for them while they are at the villa.
The lead guest must be at least 25 years old and must be part of the group staying at the villa.
We or our housekeeper may need to enter the villa during your stay, for example to maintain the pool or garden or to deal with a repair. We will give you reasonable notice, except in an emergency.
House rules
We keep the rules short so you can relax, and we ask everyone in your party to follow them.
- No smoking or vaping inside the villa. You are welcome to smoke outside, away from open windows, and please use the ashtrays provided.
- No pets, except by strict agreement with us in advance.
- No parties or events. Please keep noise down after 10pm out of respect for our neighbours.
- Please take care with candles and barbecues, and follow any local fire restrictions, which are common in Provence in summer.
- Please leave the villa in a reasonably tidy state, with dishes washed and rubbish in the bins provided.
- Please lock the doors and close the windows when you go out.
Pool safety
The pool is not supervised. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times near the pool, and the pool safety device must be kept in place when the pool is not in use. No glass, diving or running around the pool. You use the pool at your own risk.
Tourist tax
French tourist tax (taxe de séjour) is charged per adult per night at the rate set by the local commune. It is not included in the rental price unless your booking confirmation says so, and we will collect it from you with your balance.
Bookings through Airbnb, Vrbo and other websites
If you book through Airbnb, Vrbo or another booking website, that website’s payment and cancellation terms apply instead of ours. Our house rules and pool safety rules still apply to your stay.
Our responsibility to you
We will make sure the villa is clean, safe and as described when you arrive. We are not responsible for loss of or damage to your belongings, or for problems caused by things outside our control, such as utility cuts, building work nearby or bad weather. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or anything else that cannot be limited by law.
If something is not right
If anything is wrong during your stay, please tell us straight away so we can put it right. We cannot fix a problem we do not know about, so please raise it during your stay rather than afterwards.
Your personal information
We use your details only to manage your booking and to meet our legal obligations, such as tourist tax records. We do not share them with anyone else for marketing.
Law
These terms are governed by French law, as the villa is in France.
